Community and Global Service
North Park provides on-campus ministry and sponsors a wide range of service opportunities for the entire North Park community, including , volunteer activities, , and mission trips.
University Ministries programs are focused primarily on undergraduate students, but Seminary students are encouraged to participate and play important leadership roles. University Ministries collaborate with the Seminary to provide meaningful ministry opportunities for Seminary students, including serving as interns, small group and Bible study leaders and mentors, athletic chaplains, Urban Outreach site leaders, and advisors on domestic and international service trips.
In addition, the University’s offers forums that feature Seminary professors, and programs that serve Seminary students. The Director of Justice and Intercultural Learning serves as liaison between the University and the Seminary on issues and events around social justice.
The Seminary provides funding to University Ministries through the Making Connections Initiative Grant, funded by the Lilly Endowment. Funds are used to pay interns and to offset student and advisor costs for Global Partnerships trips. Spiritual direction is available to undergraduate students through the grant, and is provided by leaders trained in the Seminary’s .
