Each year, the North Park Theological Seminary community is proud to welcome guest lecturers who offer scholarship on a variety of theological topics.

The Nils W. Lund Memorial Lectureship

Every autumn, one or more distinguished biblical scholars come to the Seminary to focus on current developments in biblical studies and the task of preaching. The Lund Memorial Scholarship was founded by Hugo A. Anderson in 1960 in memory of Dr. Nils W. Lund, dean and biblical scholar at the Seminary from 1922–1954.

The David Nyvall Lectureship

The David Nyvall Lectureship was inaugurated in 1951 in memory of the pioneer Swedish American educator who served the school both as teacher and president. The Nyvall Lectures focus on a topic of history or theology, rotating each year. The theme of this spring lecture series is the interpretation of the Christian message for the contemporary world.

 

The A. Eldon Palmquist Lectureship in Preaching

This lectureship was established in 1985 by the family of the late Rev. A. Eldon Palmquist, Covenant pastor and conference superintendent, in recognition of his lively, grace-filled preaching, interest in education, and loyalty and devotion to the cause of Christ. The first lectureship was presented in 1987.

 

The Carl G. Westerdahl Lectureship in Evangelism

An endowment by the Westerdahl family established this series in 1964 in memory of the late Rev. Carl G. Westerdahl, noted Covenant preacher and evangelist. The first series of lectures was presented in the winter quarter of 1966.
