Discipleship, LifeGroups, and Prayer
Discipleship
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. 2 Corinthians 3:18
Discipleship is about following Jesus and becoming more and more like him every day. Discipleship encompasses all of life: who we are, what we believe, and how we live. Discipleship is a process that happens vertically (with God through the Holy Spirit as we follow Jesus) and horizontally (in community, walking with Jesus alongside others) as we are being formed into the image of Christ as lovers of God and neighbor.
Our aim is that discipleship is happening in every area of engagement with University Ministries whether corporate worship, smaller group gatherings, or service-learning experiences.

LifeGroups
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together,as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one anotherand all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:24-25
Choosing to follow Jesus and to love as Jesus loves every day is the way to true life, and we are invited to do so alongside others.
LifeGroups are smaller groups of four to 10 students who are doing life together and seeking Life together. Some LifeGroups focus on Bible study or prayer, some read books together, some focus on specific topicsall are centered on encountering Jesus and being transformed by him.
LifeGroups are one way we grow as followers of Jesus. As the LifeGroup community supports one another, participants grow deeper in faith, in self-understanding, and in love for others.

Prayer
And they devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. Acts 2:42
Prayer plays an important role in University Ministries and North Parks campus life. Together, the community prays for ourselves, each other, and the world. In prayer, we acknowledge that all of life is lived before and with God.
Aprayer room, located in The Center for Student Engagement (Johnson Center),provides a quiet, meditative place for students, faculty, and staff to pray. All are welcome. Our hope is also that there is space for prayer in every room, apartment, house, and office on campus.
The CollegeLife Prayer Team is a group of students dedicated to weekly prayer for individual and corporate concerns at North Park and around the world. Through a weekly prayer meeting, and other opportunities throughout the year, they invite the community to pray together and learn about different ways of praying.
