Rights and Responsibilities
As a student, you have the right to . . .
- Know what is available to you, including all federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs.
- Know how your financial need is determined, including how cost of attendance budgets are developed.
- Â and discuss with a financial aid officer any changes in circumstances that could result in a change of your financial aid package.
- Know what portion of your aid package is grant or gift aid as well as what portion must be repaid. You also have the right to know interest rates, total amount to be repaid, procedures for repayment, when repayment begins, and different loan repayment plans that are available.
- Know the process and criteria for continuing to receive institution, federal, and state financial aid.
- Know what actions can cause an adjustment in financial aid:
- Moving off campus
- Withdrawing from a class or the institution
- Not meeting the requirements
- Know the method and frequency of financial aid disbursements.

- Complete the annually if you are interested in receiving federal or state loans, work, or grants. If required, provide all verification material to the financial aid office in a timely and accurate manner remembering that by signing and submitting forms, you are responsible for the forms’ accuracy.
