Biology Student Learning Outcomes

  1. Knowledge: Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the core concepts of biology as set forth by the American Association for the Advancement of Science Vision and Change document (2011).

  2. Critical Evaluation: Students will be able to apply scientific methodology to critically evaluate biological questions.

  3. Society and Ethics: Students will be able to be able to assess ethical/societal issues in biology-related fields.

  4. Communication: Students will be able to clearly present scientific work through appropriate media.

  5. Professions: Students will be able to demonstrate the skills and knowledge necessary for entry into biology-related professions and programs.

  6. Information Literacy: Students will be able to evaluate sources of information and utilize available tools related to their field.
