Textbook Assistance

The following resources are available on campus to assist you with the attainment of your course textbooks:

Brandel Library Textbook Reserve

purchases one copy of all undergraduate course books upon request of the professor. Textbooks will be placed on open shelves near the reference desk for use within the library. Other assigned readings such as novels and books not traditionally thought of as textbooks will be purchased as well. They will be placed on reserve behind the circulation desk as usual with circulation periods (2-hour, 3-day, etc.) designated by the professor. As these books are on reserve, they cannot be checked out of the library but may be used during your visit. Email a questionto Brandel Library for more information.

Interlibrary Loan

Students are able to search the I-Share catalog through Brandel Library and determine if any texts required for their courses are available for use at North Park as well as other universities listed in I-Share. Please visit for further information.

Rent or Buy Textbooks through the North Park Online Bookstore

The , powered by TextbookX, offers 蹤獲扦 students the opportunity to rent their textbooks for the duration of the semester. Once you log in to review your personalized course page, textbooks that have rental options available will appear. Third-party Marketplace textbooks and eBooks are also available and provide great opportunities for savings.

Textbook and Course Supply Assistance Program

蹤獲扦 recognizes that some students face financial hardships and therefore, may not be able to afford to rent or purchase textbooks or course supplies. Therefore, in order to assist our students in their academic endeavors, 蹤獲扦 provides students with the tools necessary to succeed in a college environment. Toward achieving this goal and based on demonstrated financial need, Student Engagement, in association with the Student Government Association, will award vouchers to be used to defray the cost of textbooks or course supplies.

Important Information:

Students must be enrolled full time in their respective program.

Students must have completed all necessary financial aid and student account documents and processes. Student Engagement will contact the Financial Aid and Student Accounts Office to confirm that the student has completed all necessary paperwork for loans and grants and make arrangements to pay their student account bill.

Students must complete a Textbook and Course Supply Application. This will include:

  • Prioritizing requested textbooks and course supplies.
  • Writing a Plan for Success which will include a statement about present financial circumstances and/or any obstacles that have prevented the student from purchasing your required materials.

Applications will be available starting one week prior to the semester and accepted through the second week of each semesteror until funds are exhausted, whichever comes first.

If an application is approved, the University will provide vouchers to 蹤獲扦’s online bookstore to help defray the cost of textbooks and/or course supplies. The vouchers may not cover all necessary textbooks or course supplies.

If approved, the student may be asked to sign a contract acknowledging receipt of vouchers or if needed, any textbooks or supplies that will to be returned at the end of the semester.
