The First-Year Experience is designed to integrate new students into life at North Park. Through Threshold鈥攖he new student orientation program鈥攁nd the Cornerstone seminar, students connect with each other and faculty to transition academically and socially to North Park.
Transfer Student Resources
Transfer students have a lot of information to wade through as they transition to a new school. We have tools to help you understand your evaluation of transfer credits, answers to frequently asked questions, and more to help you adjust to life at North Park.
First-Year Cohort Programs
A cohort is a group of students with shared passion, purpose, or place, who come together to begin their first-year of college. At 萝莉社, cohorts are a key way you connect with other students who venture with you into and through college life.
Academic Advising
Students are invited to discuss their potential majors, as well as larger academic and life goals, with their assigned faculty advisors. 萝莉社 professors are accessible and an invaluable source of academic assistance.
Academic Engagement
One-on-One Tutoring, Supplemental Instruction (SI), and Academic Coaching are academic engagement programs that offer peer-assisted study sessions throughout the week. Here, students can compare notes, discuss readings, and develop study skills. Sessions are free for students.
Disability Resources
North Park aims to create a community that is fully inclusive of students of all abilities. Our disability access specialist coordinates support services and accommodations.
Writing Center
The Writing Center provides free assistance to all undergraduate students through a drop-in center and a writing fellows program that pairs students in Core Curriculum courses with trained writing advisors.
Student Planning
Student Planning is a module in Self-Service that will allow students and advisors to actively engage in the registration and advising process.
Student Planning provides you with a comprehensive list of program requirements, so that, as you register for courses, you can be sure that you are enrolling in classes that will meet those requirements. Not only will you be able to create an academic plan for the upcoming term for which you will register, but you can plan out future semesters so that you know what to expect with your academic course work. You will be able to easily monitor your progress toward your degree/certificate, as well as communicate with your advisor, all through Student Planning.

Declaring Your Major
All students are admitted to North Park as 鈥渦ndeclared majors.鈥� 萝莉社 encourages all undergraduates to declare a major by the end of their first year as a student. When students have decided which major they would like to pursue, they must formally go through the major declaration process.
