Studying Art at North Park
The Art department strives to provide the highest standard of artistic development in students through a range of specialized coursework, ample studio and internship experiences, and exposure to public engagements within the Chicago art scene. Under the mentorship of highly experienced art professors, students gain creative and professional experiences that prepare them for lives of significance and service.

Art Major
Choose from two concentrations within the Bachelor of Arts degree track.
Art Education
Prepare yourself for teaching art in public or private schools to educate the children of our future.
Art Therapy
Be prepared to apply for a graduate degree in Art Therapy through our pre-professional track, which combines art and psychology courses.
Arts Management Certificate
Combine your passion for art with nonprofit management skills and prepare for a career in arts management.
Non-major Participation
Non-art majors who have interest in art can enroll in any of thehands-onstudio courses or take advantage of the general education options in drawing and art history. An art club led by students is another exciting platform where non-art majors canintegrate with artists while participating in meaningful community art projects.
Art Scholarships
Promising art majors and non-art majors alike, are eligible for a limited number of art scholarships, offered in addition to other financial aid and are renewable for up to four years.
Meet the Faculty
Nnenna Okore is an internationally acclaimed artist and Fulbright scholar. In her coursessuch as Three Dimensional Design, Sculptural Practices, and African Contemporary ArtProfessor Okore urges students to apply everyday experiences towards thoughtful creative excellence.
Locations & Facilities
The Art Department, which is housed in the iconic Wilson Hall, provides students withclassroom and lab spaces including drawing and painting studios, printmaking and graphic design labs, and a wood shop.Students are offered workspaces within Wilson Hall and across campus. In addition, students can exhibit their works in Carlson Tower Gallery as well as other locations on campus.

Carlson Tower Gallery is home to an ever-changing array of exhibits featuring work by students, faculty, alumni, and guest artists. From painting and photography to sculpture and interactive installations, the possibilities are endless.
